This week has been incredibly busy and a bit overwhelming. But it included lots of good things, too.
1) A visit from my old high school friend, Anna, and her husband Brett. I haven't talked to Anna in ages and was worried at first that it could be awkward. Instead, it was delightfully easy and fun. Matt and I ate with the two of them at Cafe Iberico, and then I grabbed a quick lunch with them on Thursday.
2) Lunch with Meg, Claire and Heather on Friday at a delicious little Mexican restaurant / pastry shop called
Bombon.
3) Matt and I were supposed to have a date night on Thursday, but I was unexpectedly at work until about eight o'clock. Matt kindly ordered Chinese food in and we finally watched the episodes of Pushing Daisies we've been saving on DVR. How does everyone else feel about that show? It is completely crazy, but Matt and I loved it.
4) Heather, Tammy, Eric, Milly and I went to the US Ski and Snowboard Ball last night on behalf of the law firm. It was great fun! The appetizers and food were good. There was a little corner where you could take prom-style pictures on a faux ski lift. Free drinks everywhere, and a chance to get to know one of the named partners at our firm a bit better. The night concluded with a professional trampoline show, which was totally fantastic.
5) Afterwards, Heather and I headed over to Chrissy's Halloween party. I put on an easy costume: a bathrobe, flip-flops, and a cute necklace made of rubber ducks. I actually got quite a few compliments on it. I think it's because the ducks squeaked. :)
