Ouch

My hard drive crashed this morning, one day before my last final exam and my last paper need to be turned in. I'm at the law school printing out things I backed up. This bites.

Hard drive failing...

I've been getting a lot of random error messages lately, and I finally wrote down one of them and googled it. Bad news. The results suggest that my hard drive is failing. My computer is no longer under warranty. The computer is also only a year and a half old. I'm a bit upset.

Tired and unmotivated

In nine days, I'll be done with my traditional schooling. I'll have everything done for my master's degree and everything done for my law degree.

Now I need to find the motivation to get through these nine days. I've reached the point of not caring much about the politics of the New York trans fat ban, or spendthrift and discretionary trusts, or insurance reimbursement of complimentary and alternative medicine.

However, I'm pretty darn excited for tomorrow. As a part of a presentation on complementary and alternative medicine, my group is having an acupuncturist come to class and I am the test subject. How cool (and nerve-wracking) is that?

Injured everywhere

I'm a clumsy kid. This morning, I was walking at full speed and one of my arms ran into the doorknob. The arm still hurts.

This afternoon, I was trying to get a picture frame off of the top shelf by standing on a small, spinning chair. Bad idea. I feel off of the chair, and one of my feet landed directly on one of the chair bars. With my full weight behind it. Now I have a huge bar shaped lump on the bottom of my foot.

And, thanks to an hour and a half of errand running on foot and pilates yesterday, my right calf is extremely tight and painful. Ick. I'm a basketcase today.

Bom dia!

It's been awhile. Finals preparations have taken over for the last couple of weeks. I don't have anything too intense going on, but I'm writing two large papers, making a thirty minute final presentation, and taking a final in Trusts and Estates.

In cooler news, Matt and I finally booked our honeymoon. We're going to be in Portugal for ten days and we are both super-excited. We're going to do our best to hit up the entire country while we are there - Lisbon, Nazare, Obidos, Fatima, Porto and the Duoro Valley, Elvas and Evora... and about two dozen other places. Okay, realistically, we know we won't make it everywhere, but we'll definitely venture outside the capital city for much of our trip.

Recently I got asked to be a bridesmaid in my friend Kate's wedding. She's having a Notre Dame wedding around St. Patrick's Day next year. This will be only the second wedding I've attended in the gorgeous basilica, and both Kate and I were bridesmaids in the other one, too. Anyhow, I'm so excited to be part of the day. My friend Bethany is getting married in just over a month back in Iowa, and I get to read in that one. Another cool role, though there's more potential for embarassment if I trip up over long, biblical words. Anyhow, I know some people hate being in bridal parties. I love it. ;-) I can't decide if I love the social aspect of it, the support aspect, or if I just like weddings. Probably some combination of all of it.
